Virgo season 2027 opens just after 9am BST on Monday 23 August and closes at the autumn equinox, around 7am BST on Thursday 23 September. This year it carries extra weight, because Jupiter entered Virgo in late July. The standout date is 31 August, when the New Moon in Virgo falls on the same day the Sun meets Jupiter.

The shape of Virgo season 2027

Virgo is an earth sign ruled by Mercury, concerned with skill, service, health of routines and the satisfaction of doing something properly. In most years, its season feels like a return to structure after summer. In 2027 the mood is more hopeful, because Jupiter, the planet of growth, is moving through the same sign. Improvements made now can feel as though they have room to grow.

All dates below are in UK time and use the tropical zodiac. In the sidereal zodiac used in Vedic astrology, Jupiter is still in Leo throughout these weeks, which is why a Vedic reading may describe the period quite differently from a Sun-sign column.

31 August: a New Moon beside Jupiter

The New Moon in Virgo arrives at 18:41 BST on Tuesday 31 August 2027 at about 8 degrees of the sign. Earlier that day the Sun reaches Jupiter, so the new lunar cycle begins right next to the planet traditionally linked with wisdom, teachers and opportunity.

Why this pairing stands out

The Sun meets Jupiter roughly once a year, and there is a New Moon every month, but they do not often fall on the same day. Astrologers tend to read it as a fertile moment for practical beginnings: a course of study, a healthier daily rhythm, a better way of organising work.

An intention worth writing down

Keep the intention concrete. "I will set aside one evening a week to finish my qualification" suits Virgo far better than a vague wish. If you follow the site's monthly moon wishes, this is a New Moon worth marking, and our guide to the Jupiter transit of 2027 explains which part of your chart Jupiter is now crossing.

When to slow down

Not every day of the season runs smoothly. Two moments call for patience.

Mars opposite Saturn, 29 August

Mars in Libra faces Saturn in Aries, a classic stop-and-go aspect. Effort meets resistance, and frustration can build if you push too hard. Pace yourself and save difficult negotiations for after the New Moon.

Jupiter square Uranus, 10 September

Jupiter in Virgo squares Uranus in Gemini, exact on that date. It favours experiment and fresh thinking but can also bring restlessness or sudden changes of plan. The evening before, on 9 September, Mars in Scorpio squares Pluto, so intensity runs high across both days. Leave room in your diary.

Virgo season 2027 for each sign: one routine to review

Virgo is the sign of habits, so here is one area of life for each sign to tidy, based on where the Sun falls in its solar chart.

Aries: sixth house. Review how your working week is organised; small changes ease the pressure Saturn in your sign has been adding.
Taurus: fifth house, and Venus, your ruler, meets Jupiter on 26 August. Protect time for a hobby or creative project rather than letting work absorb it.
Gemini: fourth house. Sort one corner of home life, and with Uranus in your sign, accept that plans may change quickly.
Cancer: third house. Reply to the messages you have been avoiding; clear communication lifts a weight.
Leo: second house. Reconsider how you spend your time and energy now that Jupiter has left your sign.
Virgo: first house, with Jupiter beside your Sun. Your birthday season is a time to decide what growth means to you.
Libra: twelfth house. Rest before your own season starts; Venus arrives in your sign on 14 September.
Scorpio: eleventh house. Mars enters your sign on 2 September, so channel the energy into a shared goal with friends.
Sagittarius: tenth house. Career habits come under review; Jupiter, your ruler, is now at the top of your solar chart.
Capricorn: ninth house. Study, travel or a change of perspective appeals, but Mars opposes Saturn, your ruler, on 29 August, so plan it properly.
Aquarius: eighth house. Shared arrangements and trust need clearer agreements, especially around 9 September, when Mars squares Pluto in your sign.
Pisces: seventh house. Partnerships are the theme, and the Full Moon in your sign on 16 September brings one into focus.

The Harvest Moon and the equinox close

The Full Moon in Pisces falls just after midnight, at 00:03 BST on Thursday 16 September. As the full moon closest to the autumn equinox, it is the Harvest Moon. It sits opposite the Virgo season Sun, balancing order with compassion: a good night to forgive yourself for whatever has not gone to plan. A week later, at the equinox on 23 September, the Sun moves into Libra and attention turns from self-improvement to relationships.

How a General Reading helps with Virgo-season questions

A General Reading is a thirty-minute online session for one personal issue or professional decision. It suits the kind of focused, practical question this season brings, such as whether to start a course now or in the new year, how to restructure a working week, or which of two job offers suits your chart. Send your birth details in advance, together with your question in a sentence or two, so the time can go on your answer.
