Searching for an astrologer in Croydon tends to turn up directory listings, psychic adverts and pages for other cities, rather than a Vedic astrologer who explains how they work. Karmic Keran offers one-to-one Vedic readings online, by Google Meet or WhatsApp, so families in Thornton Heath, Norbury, Addiscombe or Purley can book a proper chart reading without travelling anywhere.

To be clear from the start: this is an online practice, not an office on a Croydon high street. If you already know what you want to explore, you can send your question today and I will reply with the session that suits it.

Why the right astrologer in Croydon may not have a local shopfront

A Vedic reading is calculated from your date, time and place of birth. Nothing about it depends on sitting in the same room, so a well-prepared video call gives you exactly the same chart work as a visit. What matters is how carefully the chart is cast, how clearly it is explained and how honestly the astrologer describes what astrology can and cannot do.

An online session also solves practical problems. You can join from home after the commute back through East Croydon, choose a room where you will not be overheard, and include a parent or partner on the call if you want them there.

Jathagam, kundli, janam patri: one chart, many family names

The borough is home to families with Tamil, Gujarati, Punjabi and many other roots, and each tradition has its own word for the birth chart. They all describe the same thing: a map of the sky at your birth, read in the sidereal zodiac.

If your family says jathagam

Tamil and other South Indian families usually keep a jathagam drawn in the South Indian style, a square grid in which each sign keeps a fixed position. Older jathagams are often handwritten and may record the birth time in the local time of the town where you were born, sometimes alongside the Tamil month and nakshatra.

If your family says kundli or janam patri

North and West Indian families tend to use the North Indian style, a diamond-shaped chart in which the houses stay fixed and the signs move around them. Gujarati families may have a janam patri prepared by a family priest soon after birth.

Does the chart style change the reading?

No. The two layouts are different ways of drawing identical information. Bring whichever one your family has, or simply your birth details, and the reading will be explained in plain English either way. If you are curious about the details, this guide to the janam kundli explained in English walks through each part.

Warning signs to watch for when choosing an astrologer

Because the local results are thin, you may come across adverts promising a great deal. A few warning signs are worth knowing.

Promises of results by a fixed date. No honest astrologer can promise that a partner will return or a problem will vanish within days.
Fear as a sales tool. Being told you are cursed, or that a dosha will ruin your life unless you pay for a ritual, is pressure, not guidance.
No explanation. A good reading tells you which placement or period a statement comes from, so you can follow the reasoning.
Medical, legal or financial instructions. These belong with qualified professionals. Astrology can offer reflection on timing and themes, not those decisions.

It is also worth asking any astrologer, before you book, how they calculate the chart, which zodiac they use and what happens if your birth time is uncertain. Clear, unhurried answers to those questions are a good sign. My own approach is simple: I explain what I see, I do not sell remedies, and the choices remain yours.

What a 60-minute In-Depth Reading covers

For Croydon readers with several questions, or one big question that touches different parts of life, the In-Depth Reading is the natural starting point. It runs for 60 minutes, one to one, on Google Meet or WhatsApp, and is designed for long-term guidance on career, relationships and personal growth.

The structure of the hour

Your chart's foundations: the ascendant, Moon sign, birth nakshatra and the planets that stand out.
Your current chapter: the dasha and antardasha you are running, which describe the themes of this period.
Your questions in depth: the houses and planets connected with what you have asked, alongside slower transits such as Saturn and Jupiter.
Timing and next steps: the months that look better suited to particular moves, and what to watch for.

If your question concerns one specific relationship, the Compatibility Reading compares two charts side by side instead.

Getting ready for your session from South London

A little preparation makes the hour far more useful.

Find the most accurate birth time you can. Hospital notes, a parent's memory or the time written on a family chart all help.
Note the town of birth rather than just the country, especially if you were born in Sri Lanka, India, East Africa or elsewhere abroad.
Write down two or three questions in order of importance, so we spend the time where it matters most.
Check your connection and choose a quiet room, particularly if family members are at home.

Frequently asked questions

Do you see clients in person in Croydon?

No. All sessions are online, through Google Meet or WhatsApp, so you can join from anywhere in the borough or beyond.

Can you read a jathagam written in Tamil?

Your birth date, time and place are what matter. If the chart is handwritten, send the details from it, and I will recalculate the chart and explain it in English.

Can a parent join the call?

Yes, if you are happy for them to hear the reading. Many questions about marriage or career involve the whole family, and you decide who is present.

What if I only have one question?

Then Ask Me a Question may suit you better: one personal question, answered in writing and aligned with your horoscope.

If you have been searching for an astrologer in Croydon who will explain your chart calmly and honestly, book your In-Depth Reading or send your question through the enquiry form. Include your birth details and a line about what is on your mind, and I will come back to you with the next step.
