Scorpio season 2027 starts at about 4.30pm BST on Saturday 23 October and ends at about 1.15pm GMT on Monday 22 November. It opens in the last days of a Mercury retrograde, brings a New Moon in Scorpio on 29 October, and coincides with the clocks going back. Expect a reflective, searching month that rewards honesty over speed.

What kind of season is this?

Scorpio is a fixed water sign, traditionally ruled by Mars and, in modern astrology, by Pluto. It is associated with trust, intimacy, shared resources, endings and renewal. Its season arrives as British autumn deepens and the evenings close in, which suits its inward character: people often find themselves clearing out, reassessing commitments and thinking about what they want to keep.

In 2027 the tone is coloured by three things: Mercury finishing a retrograde, Pluto having recently turned direct in Aquarius in mid-October, and Mars moving through optimistic Sagittarius for most of the season. That combination asks for depth without heaviness.

Scorpio season 2027 in three phases

Phase one, 23 to 31 October: closing the retrograde

Mercury has been retrograde since 7 October and turns direct on 28 October at about 19 degrees of Libra. The same day the Sun squares Pluto, and Mars in Sagittarius opposes Uranus in Gemini, so tempers and surprises may run high. The New Moon in Scorpio follows at 14:36 BST on Friday 29 October, at about 6 degrees of the sign, a strong moment to commit to a private intention. Diwali also falls in this opening week, so many UK households are already in a mood of clearing, cleaning and renewal.

Clocks go back on 31 October

British Summer Time ends on Sunday 31 October 2027, so from the following day the dates below are in GMT. If you are noting birth times or appointment times for anything around this weekend, double-check which clock they use.

Phase two, 1 to 13 November: lighter air

Venus enters Sagittarius on 1 November, adding warmth and humour to relationships. Venus opposes Uranus on 8 November, which can bring an unexpected meeting or a sudden wish for more freedom. Mercury returns to Scorpio on 10 November, this time moving forward, making it a good week for the frank conversation you postponed during the retrograde.

Phase three, 14 to 22 November: the Taurus Full Moon

The Full Moon in Taurus falls at 03:26 GMT on Sunday 14 November, opposite the Scorpio Sun. It brings the season's question into the open: what do I need to feel secure, and what am I holding on to out of habit? Mars squares Jupiter on 16 November and Venus does the same on 20 November, so enthusiasm may outrun planning. The season ends on 22 November as the Sun reaches Sagittarius.

Scorpio season 2027 by modality

Astrology groups the signs into cardinal signs, which initiate, fixed signs, which sustain, and mutable signs, which adapt. Each group meets a Scorpio season differently.

Cardinal signs

Aries has the Sun in the eighth house of trust and shared arrangements; with Saturn retrograde in your sign, review commitments you made in a hurry. Cancer enjoys the fifth house of romance and creativity, and the Scorpio New Moon falls there; let something playful back into your week. Libra turns to the second house of values after your birthday season; Mercury direct in your sign helps you say what you need. Capricorn looks to the eleventh house of friends and long-term hopes, while Saturn, your ruler, is retrograde; one friendship may ask for more honesty.

Fixed signs

Scorpio starts a new personal year in the first house; the New Moon in your sign is your clearest moment of 2027 to set an intention. Taurus has the seventh house of partnerships lit, with the Full Moon in your sign on 14 November highlighting a relationship. Leo turns to the fourth house of home and family, and the Taurus Full Moon on 14 November lights up your career angle; balance private matters with public ones. Aquarius has the tenth house of career and reputation in focus, with Pluto in your sign squaring the Sun on 28 October; choose your battles at work.

Mutable signs

Gemini focuses on the sixth house of routines; Uranus in your sign is opposed by Mars on 28 October, so leave room for sudden changes of plan. Virgo has the third house of everyday communication active; Jupiter in your sign makes this a good season to learn. Sagittarius rests in the twelfth house while Mars and then Venus move through your sign; recharge before your birthday. Pisces looks to the ninth house of study, travel and belief; an idea or teacher may change your thinking.

Why Scorpio questions suit a longer reading

Scorpio-season questions are rarely simple. They involve trust, change and the patterns that repeat in a life, and they benefit from time. An In-Depth Reading gives sixty minutes on Google Meet or WhatsApp to look at your whole Vedic birth chart, your current dasha, the planetary period you are running, and the transits passing through it. That allows the conversation to move from "why now?" to "what next?".

Good questions to bring include why a particular relationship pattern keeps returning, how to approach a big change you have been resisting, and which part of your chart describes trust and shared resources. If the Mercury retrograde has left you uncertain about a decision, our guide to the Mercury retrograde shadow period explains why clarity often returns in the weeks after Mercury turns direct. For the whole year, see the Scorpio horoscope 2027.
