Your Sagittarius horoscope for 2027 follows your ruling planet, Jupiter. It spends the first half of the year in Leo, your ninth house of travel, study and belief, then enters Virgo, your tenth house of career, on 26 July 2027. Saturn in your fifth house asks you to take creativity and romance seriously.

Jupiter, your ruler, in three phases

Because Jupiter rules Sagittarius, its movements describe the overall mood of your year more closely than for most signs. In 2027 it moves in three clear phases (dates are UK time).

1 January to 13 April 2027: retrograde in your ninth house

Jupiter turned retrograde in Leo on 13 December 2026 and stays that way until 13 April 2027. The ninth house rules higher learning, long journeys, publishing and your philosophy of life, so this is a time to revisit study plans, reconsider a trip or rethink what you believe before you commit further. Mars is retrograde over the same months, from 10 January to 1 April 2027, moving from Virgo, your tenth house, back into Leo, your ninth, so both career and travel plans may pause before they move again.

13 April to 26 July 2027: forward momentum

Once Jupiter moves forward, those plans can gather pace. Travel, teaching, writing and anything that widens your horizons are well supported. The total solar eclipse of 2 August 2027 then falls in this same house, just after Jupiter leaves, and can mark a fresh start in how you learn or what you believe.

From 26 July 2027: Jupiter in your career sector

Jupiter enters Virgo and the top of your solar chart, staying until 24 August 2028. The tenth house covers career, reputation and your public role, and Jupiter here is traditionally linked with growth in responsibility and recognition. It was last in Virgo in 2015 and 2016.

Why the tenth house matters to a Sagittarius

You often prize freedom over status. Jupiter in your tenth suggests that, for a while, the two can work together: a role with room to grow, or work that carries your values into public view.

Saturn and Neptune in your fifth house

Aries is your fifth house of creativity, romance, play and self-expression. Saturn here all year asks you to commit: to a creative discipline, to a relationship you value, or to the hobbies that genuinely restore you. Aries is a fellow fire sign, so Saturn forms a trine to your Sun, traditionally one of its more workable placements. In 2027 it moves across roughly 8 to 28 degrees of Aries, closest to Sagittarians born between about 30 November and 20 December.

Neptune also travels through your fifth house, adding imagination and inspiration, along with a need to see romance clearly. Saturn is retrograde from 9 August to 24 December 2027, a good stretch for refining creative work already under way. A practical approach is to choose one creative or personal project and give it regular, protected time; Saturn rewards consistency far more than bursts of enthusiasm.

Partnerships, communication and the lunar nodes

Uranus spends the year in Gemini, your seventh house of partnership. Relationships may need more space, honesty and room for change than usual. Uranus turns retrograde on 15 September 2027. In 2027 it moves across roughly 1 to 10 degrees of Gemini, so Sagittarians born between about 24 November and 2 December feel its opposition most.

The North Node in Aquarius, your third house, and the annular eclipse there on 6 February 2027 highlight learning, conversation and your local community. The penumbral lunar eclipse of 17 August 2027 returns to the same sign, while the faint lunar eclipse of 20 February 2027 falls in Virgo, your career sector. Mercury's retrogrades add their own notes: 9 February to 3 March 2027 from your fourth house into your third, 10 June to 4 July 2027 from your eighth into your seventh, and 7 to 28 October 2027 from your twelfth into your eleventh.

Sagittarius horoscope 2027: personal windows

Several planets visit your sign during the year, each offering a personal boost:

Venus in Sagittarius, 7 January to 3 February 2027, and again from 1 to 25 November 2027.
Mars in Sagittarius, 16 October to 25 November 2027: energy, courage and a push to act.
The Sun in Sagittarius from 22 November 2027: your birthday season.
Mercury in Sagittarius, 29 November to 18 December 2027: clear thinking and lively conversation to close the year.

Dhanu Moon: relief from Kantaka Shani

In Vedic astrology the most closely watched transit is Saturn, counted from your Moon sign in the sidereal zodiac. For a Dhanu Moon, sidereal Saturn has been in Pisces, the fourth from your Moon, a placement often called Kantaka or Ardhashtama Shani. It moves into Aries, your fifth, on 3 June 2027, ending that phase for now, although Saturn in the fifth from the Moon brings its own lessons around study, creativity and matters of the heart. It steps back into Pisces on 20 October 2027 and finally leaves on 23 February 2028. Sidereal Jupiter, also your ruler in Vedic astrology, re-enters Leo, your ninth, on 26 June 2027 and moves into Virgo, your tenth, on 26 November 2027.
