Pisces season 2027 dates in UK time

Many calendars list 19 or even 20 February as the start of Pisces season. In 2027 the Sun actually crosses into Pisces at about 21:33 GMT on 18 February, which is still the 18th in the UK and across most of Europe. The season ends when the Sun reaches Aries at the March equinox, at about 20:24 GMT on 20 March. The clocks have not yet gone forward, so every time in this guide is GMT.

The key dates, from Mars opposition to the equinox

18 to 21 February: the eclipse weekend

The season begins with Mercury retrograde, having turned on 9 February and slipped back into Aquarius on the 18th. On 19 February the Sun in Pisces stands opposite retrograde Mars in Virgo, the moment astronomers call opposition. The following evening brings a penumbral lunar eclipse at about 2 degrees Virgo, with greatest eclipse at 23:13 GMT. On 21 February Mars retreats into Leo. Expect feelings about work, daily routines and relationships to surface quickly; it is wiser to listen than to settle anything in a hurry.

1 to 8 March: Mercury direct and the New Moon

Venus enters Aquarius on 1 March, and Mercury turns direct in Aquarius on 3 March, so delayed messages and plans begin to move again. The New Moon in Pisces falls at about 09:29 GMT on 8 March, the season's quiet reset point.

20 March: the equinox

The Sun reaches Aries in the evening, ending the zodiac year and opening the next, a natural moment to look back over the past twelve months before setting new aims. Jupiter is still retrograde in Leo and Mars is retrograde until 1 April, so new projects may need a few more weeks to gather pace.

What Pisces season 2027 asks of each sign, in opposite pairs

Because the eclipse Moon sits in Virgo while the Sun is in Pisces, each pair of opposite signs feels the same axis of life from different ends.

Aries and Libra: rest and routine

Aries: the Sun moves through your most private house, so this is your time to rest before your birthday. The eclipse in your sixth house asks which daily habits are draining you.

Libra: work routines are in focus, while the eclipse falls in your house of retreat. Finish what is half done, and protect some unscheduled time for yourself.

Taurus and Scorpio: friends and creativity

Taurus: friendships and community plans are emphasised. The eclipse touches your fifth house of creativity and romance, showing where you have stopped making time for joy.

Scorpio: romance, children and creative play are lit up for you. The eclipse in your eleventh house may change how a group or friendship fits your hopes.

Gemini and Sagittarius: career and home

Gemini: career and public direction sit under the Sun, while the eclipse falls at the base of your chart. Balancing ambition with home life is the theme.

Sagittarius: home and family come first this month, yet the eclipse lands at the top of your chart, so a professional question may need an answer once Mercury is direct.

Cancer and Capricorn: big ideas and everyday words

Cancer: study, travel and beliefs inspire you, while the eclipse in your third house shows how a local conversation or sibling matter needs attention.

Capricorn: messages, paperwork and neighbourhood life are busy. The eclipse in your ninth house may shift a plan for learning or a journey.

Leo and Aquarius: shared and personal resources

Leo: trust and shared commitments are under the Sun, and Mars retrogrades back into your sign on 21 February. The eclipse in your second house prompts a review of what you value most.

Aquarius: self-worth and personal priorities follow your birthday season. Mercury is retrograde in your sign until 3 March, and the eclipse in your eighth house asks what you are ready to share or release.

Virgo and Pisces: you and the other

Virgo: partnerships take centre stage, and the eclipse falls in your own sign while Mars is retrograde there. Speak plainly about what you need and allow others to do the same.

Pisces: happy birthday season. The eclipse in your seventh house shows what a close relationship needs from you, and the New Moon on 8 March is your personal fresh start.

Working with the New Moon in Pisces

New Moons are traditionally a time to set intentions, and a Pisces New Moon suits wishes about compassion, creativity, rest and spiritual life. Write them in the present tense, keep them about your own choices and revisit them at the Full Moon. Our guide to writing New Moon wishes explains the method, and the monthly moon wishes page follows each lunation through the year.

Going deeper than your Sun sign

Your rising sign and Moon sign decide which houses this eclipse really touches. If Virgo rises in your chart, for instance, the eclipse falls on your ascendant, which is far more personal than any Sun-sign summary suggests.
