Looking for an Indian astrologer in Harrow? Your story, or your parents', may have begun far from north-west London: in Gujarat or Punjab, in Nairobi or Kampala, in Colombo or Karachi. A Vedic chart can be cast accurately for any of those places, and the reading can be held online, so the main task is getting the birth details right.

If your details are ready, book a General Reading. If you are unsure whether the information you have is enough, send us your question before you book.

Finding an Indian astrologer in Harrow who works online

Harrow is home to families whose roots run through Gujarat, Punjab, East Africa and Sri Lanka, sometimes across more than one country in a few generations. Vedic astrology, or Jyotish, travelled with many of them, and in plenty of homes it is still consulted for marriages, house moves and life decisions. What has changed is how people want to consult it: often online, in English, and with the reasoning explained rather than simply handed down.

An online reading suits that well. Whether you are in Rayners Lane, Kenton, Wealdstone or Stanmore, a Google Meet or WhatsApp session means nobody has to travel, and an older relative can sit beside you if you want them there. When you choose an Indian astrologer in Harrow, or anywhere else, look for someone who knows the tradition and explains it clearly.

When your story begins outside Britain

A Vedic chart needs three facts: date, time and place of birth. When the birth happened abroad, the time and place need a little more care.

Born in India

Most Indian birth times are recorded in Indian Standard Time, but older records from some regions were noted in a local standard, and wartime clock changes affected some births in the 1940s. If the time came from a family janam patri rather than a hospital, it may even be expressed as time after sunrise. All of these can be worked with once the source is known, and it is worth mentioning if the birth was in the 1940s or 1950s, when such differences are most likely to matter.

Born in East Africa

Births in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania were usually written in the local clock time of the day. The territories used more than one time standard during the twentieth century, so the date matters as much as the time when the chart is calculated.

Born in Sri Lanka, Pakistan or elsewhere

Many countries have adjusted their clocks over the decades; Sri Lanka, for instance, changed its standard time more than once between the mid-1990s and the mid-2000s. Again, the answer is simply to record the time as it was written.

Why you should not convert the time yourself

Well-meaning relatives sometimes "correct" a time into British time or add and subtract hours from memory. This is where errors easily creep in. Give the original local time and place, mention where the time came from, and the conversion to universal time is handled when your chart is prepared.

Getting the birthplace right

The place of birth supplies the latitude and longitude, which affect the ascendant and the houses. A few tips help:

Village and district. If you were born in a village, give its name and the nearest town or district, so it can be located accurately.
Old and new names. Bombay is now Mumbai, Baroda is Vadodara and Poona is Pune. Either name is fine; just make sure it is clear which place you mean.
Hospital or home. If you know the hospital, mention it. If you were born at home, the town is enough.

If your family holds documents from more than one country, such as an Indian or Kenyan birth record and a later British passport, treat the original birth record as the main source. A passport usually shows only the town and country of birth, while a hospital note or family patri is more likely to carry the time.

What a General Reading explores for a family with two homes

In a General Reading, thirty minutes one to one on Google Meet or WhatsApp, your Vedic birth chart becomes the basis for guidance on a personal issue or a professional decision. For people with roots in more than one country, the questions are often about belonging as much as logistics: how to balance duties to parents in Nairobi or Ahmedabad with a life built in London, how family expectations sit alongside a career you chose for yourself, or whether a long-planned move back fits the period you are in. The chart looks at areas such as the fourth house of home and roots, the ninth house of father, teachers and dharma, and the planetary period you are currently running. If relocation is the heart of your question, this guide to foreign settlement in astrology covers it in more depth.

Arranging your session from Harrow

Pick your platform when you book, and gather the birth details beforehand. If an older relative is providing them, ask before the session rather than during it, so the half hour is spent on guidance rather than on remembering dates. If you would like a sense of how the call itself unfolds, this guide to what happens in an online Vedic reading walks through it. And if a live conversation is not for you, Ask Me a Question answers one personal question in writing.

Frequently asked questions

My parents remember the time only as "just after evening prayers". Is that usable?

It gives a window, and a window is useful. Share exactly what they remember, and I will explain which parts of the reading depend on the precise time.

My passport spells my birthplace differently. Does it matter?

No. Spellings vary in transliteration. What matters is identifying the correct place, so add the district or state if the name is common.

Can I book a reading for an elderly parent born in Kenya?

Yes, with their agreement. They can join the call with you, and you can help with the technology.

Do I need official documents from abroad before I book?

No. Send what you have, whether a birth record, a family patri or a relative's memory, and note where each detail came from. The reading starts from the best information available.

When you have your details together, book your General Reading, giving the original local time and place of birth. If your birth information is incomplete or comes from several sources, send it through the enquiry form with a note of where each detail came from, and we can work out the clearest starting point together.
