If you're searching for an Indian astrologer in Cardiff, you're probably after Jyotish: the Vedic system of kundli, rashi and dashas that your family may already turn to for weddings and naming days. You can have that reading without a local practice. Karmic Keran works online, so from Canton, Roath or Penarth you can book a 30-minute General Reading by Google Meet, WhatsApp or written reply.

What people want from an Indian astrologer in Cardiff

"Indian astrology" describes a whole tradition rather than one technique. Its starting point is the kundli, or janam kundli: your birth chart, drawn for the date, time and place you were born. From it an astrologer reads your rashi (the Moon sign, treated as more personal than the Sun sign), your lagna (the rising sign that sets out the twelve houses), your birth nakshatra and the dasha, or planetary period, you are moving through. Muhurat, the choice of an auspicious moment for a wedding, a griha pravesh or an opening, belongs to the same tradition.

In some families these words are familiar from weddings, naming ceremonies and house-warmings, even if nobody ever explained them. For others, the first encounter is a late-night search about a job, a relationship or a proposed match. A parent wanting reassurance about a match, a student weighing a career path and a couple choosing a date each need something different, and knowing which applies to you is the first step to booking the right session. If you'd like help deciding, send us your question and we'll point you to the session that fits.

Booking an online Vedic reading from Wales

Method matters more than distance. Whoever you book, in Cardiff or further afield, look for an astrologer who explains the chart in plain English, ties each point to a specific placement and leaves the decisions with you. An online session also suits busy households: a reading over WhatsApp can fit around a shift pattern, and a written reply can be read again later, or shown to a parent who couldn't join the call.

Where you live now makes no difference to the chart itself; your birthplace makes a great deal. A chart is always cast for the place and local time of birth, so someone born in Ahmedabad and raised in Grangetown has a chart that starts from Indian Standard Time, not from Cardiff.

Matching your question to the right session

One theme: the General Reading

The General Reading offers 30 minutes of guidance on a personal issue, a professional decision or a general look at where you stand. It is the natural first step into Vedic astrology.

First questions that work well

"What does my current dasha suggest about this stage of my working life?"
"I feel unsettled since moving to Cardiff. What themes does my chart show around home?"
"Why does the same kind of disagreement keep surfacing with my family?"

Two people: kundli matching and compatibility

For a proposed marriage, families often start with the guna milan score. A Compatibility Reading looks beyond the number at the strengths, challenges and communication between two charts, and it works for business partnerships as well as love. Our guide to kundli matching for marriage in the UK explains how families usually approach it.

A date to choose: muhurat

Weddings, engagements, house moves and shop openings can be timed through the Magic of Lucky Dates and Times service, working within the venue dates and family plans you already have.

A home or a workplace

For a new house, whether a Victorian terrace in Splott or a flat in Cardiff Bay, the Energy at Home / New Home session combines the home's horoscope with Vedic astrology, Vastu Shastra and Feng Shui.

Preparing your kundli details

A chart is only as accurate as the birth time behind it, and this is where many people born in Wales get stuck. Birth certificates issued in England and Wales normally record a time only for twins and other multiple births, so a single-birth certificate from a Cardiff hospital won't help. Places to look instead:

A horoscope written by a family priest or elder when you were born, often the most precise record a family keeps.
Hospital or maternity notes, if your parents held on to them.
Your parents' memory, anchored to something concrete such as a prayer time, a meal or the end of a shift.
For births in India, any family papers noting the time.

If none of these exist, a reading is still worthwhile: the Moon sign, and often the birth nakshatra, still carry much of the story, though dasha timings become approximate. Say so when you enquire so the reading can be framed honestly.

What happens after you get in touch

You send your question and birth details through the enquiry form. We reply to confirm which session suits you and how you'd like to meet, whether by Google Meet, WhatsApp or written reply. Your chart is prepared beforehand, so the session itself is spent on you. During the reading, expect clear references to the placements behind each point and space for your own follow-up questions. Astrology is offered here as guidance and reflection: it describes themes and timing rather than fixed outcomes, and you remain the one who decides.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to speak Hindi, Punjabi or Gujarati?

No. Readings are in English, and Sanskrit terms are explained as they come up, so the session works whether you grew up with Jyotish or are meeting it for the first time.

Can kundli matching be done online from Cardiff?

Yes. Kundli matching is handled as a Compatibility Reading using both partners' birth details, and it works the same whether the families live in Cardiff, elsewhere in the UK or overseas.

What if I only know my rashi, not my birth time?

That is a reasonable place to start. Your rashi and the broad dasha picture still give a reading substance, although timing and questions that depend on the houses are answered more tentatively.

Should I choose a General or an In-Depth Reading?

Choose the 30-minute General Reading for one theme, and the 60-minute In-Depth Reading if you want long-term guidance across several areas of life.

When you're ready, share your question through our enquiry form with your date, time and place of birth. We'll be in touch to arrange a General Reading, or whichever session fits better, at a time that works around your week in Cardiff.
