Gemini season 2027 timings, from 21 May to the solstice

The Sun moves from Taurus into Gemini at about 06:18 GMT, which is 07:18 BST, on 21 May 2027. It reaches Cancer at the June solstice, at about 14:10 GMT or 15:10 BST on 21 June, the longest day of the year in the UK. Anyone born between those moments in 2027 is a Gemini Sun in Western astrology.

The shape of the season

The first week is the liveliest. On 27 May the Sun joins Uranus at nearly 6 degrees Gemini, an annual meeting associated with sudden ideas, surprises and the urge to break a routine. The next day Mercury leaves Gemini for Cancer, so thinking turns more personal and protective.

The New Moon in Gemini arrives on 4 June at about 20:40 BST, the season's natural moment to begin a course, a conversation or a piece of writing. Venus enters Gemini on 8 June, lightening social plans. Two days later, on 10 June, Mercury stations retrograde at about 6 degrees Cancer. The Full Moon in Sagittarius falls in the early hours of 19 June, across the Gemini and Sagittarius axis of questions and answers, and the solstice closes the season on 21 June.

Uranus in Gemini: why this season feels livelier

Uranus moved into Gemini in April 2026 and will stay for several years; the last time it travelled through this sign was in the 1940s. Gemini already rules communication, learning and short journeys. With Uranus here, those areas keep changing: new ways of talking, new tools for learning and a restless appetite for variety. When the Sun meets Uranus, that restlessness peaks. It is a good week for experiments, but a poor one for promises you have not thought through.

Mercury retrograde from 10 June: what to double-check

Mercury is retrograde from 10 June to 4 July 2027, moving from Cancer back into Gemini on 26 June. The final week and a half of Gemini season therefore sits inside the retrograde.

A question for each sign this Gemini season

Gemini is the sign of questions, so instead of predictions, here is one question for each sign, drawn from where the Sun and the retrograde fall in its solar chart.

Aries: which message have you been putting off?

The Sun lights your house of communication, while the retrograde touches home. Say the useful thing kindly, then let family conversations unfold slowly.

Taurus: what is your time really worth?

Your values and resources are in focus, and the retrograde runs through your communication sector. Re-read before you reply. Venus, your ruler, enters Gemini on 8 June, warming conversations about what things are worth to you.

Gemini: who are you becoming?

Happy birthday season. The Sun meets Uranus in your sign, inviting reinvention, while the retrograde asks you to reconsider what you value.

Cancer: what needs rest before your birthday?

The Sun moves through your most private house, and Mercury turns retrograde in your sign. Reflect before you commit.

Leo: which friendships still fit?

Groups and long-term hopes are lively, while the retrograde in your twelfth house favours quiet reflection over networking. Your ruler, the Sun, meets Uranus on 27 May, so a friend may surprise you.

Virgo: what does progress look like to you now?

Career and reputation are under the Sun, and Mars is in your sign. Act on one priority rather than five. Mercury, your ruler, turns retrograde in your friendship sector on 10 June, so give group plans extra time.

Libra: what would you like to learn next?

Study and travel appeal, but the retrograde at the top of your chart suggests revisiting a career plan before changing it.

Scorpio: what are you ready to share?

Trust and joint arrangements are in focus. With the retrograde in your ninth house, double-check travel plans.

Sagittarius: what does fairness look like here?

Partnerships take centre stage, and the Full Moon in your sign on 19 June brings a relationship question to a head.

Capricorn: which routine would you simplify?

Daily work is highlighted, while the retrograde in your seventh house brings an old partnership topic back. Listen first; the answer may be simpler than it looks.

Aquarius: what brings you joy?

Creativity and romance are emphasised, and the retrograde touches routines. Make room for play. Uranus, your modern ruler, will be in this part of your chart for years, so experiment freely.

Pisces: what makes home feel like home?

Family and belonging come first, while the retrograde revisits a creative project or romance. Uranus at the base of your chart keeps domestic life changeable, so stay flexible about plans at home.
