If you grew up in Southall hearing that you are "Manglik" or that "Sade Sati has started", but nobody ever explained what that means, you are not alone. An astrologer in Southall does not have to be a shopfront on the Broadway: a Vedic reading held online can explain your own chart in plain English, at your own pace.

When you are ready to understand your chart for yourself, book a General Reading. If you would like to ask something before booking, send your question through the enquiry form.

Looking for an astrologer in Southall when you grew up with the tradition

In some households in Southall, Norwood Green and Hayes, astrology was simply part of the background of childhood. A kundli was drawn up when you were born, a pandit was consulted before an engagement, and relatives spoke about lucky days and difficult years. Yet if you are a second- or third-generation Londoner, there is a fair chance none of it was ever explained to you directly.

That leaves a gap. You may half-believe a label you heard as a teenager, or feel uneasy about something an aunt said, without knowing whether it applies to you. A good reading closes that gap. It shows you your own chart, explains what each feature means and puts it in proportion, without fear and without being told what you must do. It also gives you room to ask the questions you might feel awkward raising in front of relatives.

Family sayings, explained calmly

Three phrases tend to come up with people who were raised around Vedic astrology.

"You are Manglik"

Mangal dosha refers to Mars occupying certain houses in a chart. It is traditionally considered in marriage matching, but classical texts also describe many conditions that soften or cancel it, and the wider chart always matters. This calm guide to Manglik dosha and matching sets out the facts.

"Sade Sati has started"

Sade Sati is the period of roughly seven and a half years in which Saturn moves through the sign before your Moon sign, your Moon sign itself and the sign after it. It is often described as a demanding phase that asks for patience and maturity, not as a disaster. Read more in this guide to what Sade Sati means.

"This is a bad dasha"

The dasha system divides life into planetary periods. Each period has its own character, and every chart contains easier and harder chapters. A period described as difficult in one area may be productive in another.

Why one label never tells the whole story

A Vedic chart is read as a whole. A single placement, transit or period always sits alongside the strength of other planets, the houses involved and your own choices. Hearing a label without that context is like reading one line of a letter and guessing the rest.

What you can bring to a reading in English

A reading is not only for decoding old sayings. You can also use it to think through something current, with the chart as a framework for reflection. Typical themes include:

whether to stay in the family business or follow a different career;
how to approach a relationship that your family may see differently from you;
the right moment to move out, move abroad or start something new;
a feeling of being stuck, and what this period of life is asking of you.

Traditional terms such as rashi, nakshatra and lagna are explained as they come up, so you leave understanding the vocabulary as well as the advice.

An online session from Southall

For this kind of conversation, the General Reading offers thirty minutes one to one, on Google Meet or WhatsApp, with your chart calculated from your own date, time and place of birth. It covers general guidance on a personal issue or a professional decision. There is no need to find parking on King Street or travel to a consulting room; you can talk from home, from the office or from a quiet corner anywhere along the Elizabeth line.

If you arrive with a family saying, that is usually where we begin. I locate the placement or period your relatives were referring to, show you where it sits in your chart and explain what surrounds it. The rest of the half hour can then turn to whatever you want guidance on now, so the session answers the old question and the current one.

If you would rather write than talk, Ask Me a Question lets you send a single personal question and receive a written reply grounded in your horoscope.

Taking it back to the family

Some people keep their reading private; others want to share it. If you do talk it over with parents or grandparents, a few things help. Start with what you learnt rather than what you disagree with. Ask them for any details they remember about your birth, such as the hospital or the time, which can sharpen a future reading. And remember that their views were often formed with the information available at the time. A calm explanation of the whole chart can reassure elders more than any argument.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to speak Punjabi or Hindi for the reading?

No. The reading is conducted in English, and any Sanskrit or traditional terms are explained in plain language.

My parents had my kundli made in India. Do I need a new one?

Your chart is calculated fresh from your birth details for the reading, but bring the old kundli if you have it. Comparing the two often answers questions in its own right.

Can I book without telling my family?

Yes. The reading is yours, and you decide whether to share any of it.

What if I was told I am Manglik and I am planning to marry?

A General Reading can explain your own chart. If you want both charts compared, the Compatibility Reading is the better fit, and Manglik matching can be discussed calmly there.

If your search for an astrologer in Southall was really a search for someone to explain your own chart, book your General Reading and bring the family saying you most want explained. If you would like to ask something before booking, send it through the enquiry form, along with your date, time and place of birth if you have them.
